It also didn’t qualify for the battery replacement program. (The one issue I had was the battery swelling in Sept 2018.
MID 2015 MACBOOK PRO 13 RETINA UPGRADE
I don’t think I’ll upgrade for quite a while. I honestly have not really been that impressed since they moved to the design of the 4th Gen in 2016. I really believe this was the peak model with its design, performance, display, trackpad, and amazing range of ports (this is big for me). I do everything from basic internet browsing, word processing, & entertainment to graphic design, web development, video editing, slideshow presentations, & IT work. I take it everywhere with me in my backpack and have used it in almost every way possible - I’ve travelled over the US since I’ve gotten it and have even taken it to Ecuador. I have used it nearly every day since I got it - for my 3 jobs, personal projects, and personal normal use. It has been absolutely stellar since day one. In January 2016, I bought the maxed out 13” Early 2015 (3.1 GHz i7, 16 GB, 1TB SSD) from the Apple Refurb Store. And if you opt for an amd card you have the advantage of also being able to use it with macos. For anyone wondering if it’s worth it, trust me, it really is. It’s such a nice thing to have and works flawlessly. By connecting 5 cables I completely transform my 2015 15” into a 144hz gaming pc. And to top it all off I use an ethernet to thunderbolt 2 cable ‘cause wifi sucks. Then I bought an adapter to get 4 usb ports out of the one on the left and connected a razer blackwidow elite, razer kraken chroma and razer abyssus to it. I have an internal 1 tb ssd sitting in an external usb 3.0 enclosure that I keep all my games on and connect to usb port on the right of the mac. Bought an 144hz monitor and connected it to the core x.
MID 2015 MACBOOK PRO 13 RETINA PC
If you guys want to use your mac as a laptop during the day and pc gaming during the night this is what I did with mine:īought a TB3 cable, TB3 to TB2 adapter and connected it to an nvidia rtx 2070 inside a razer core x enclosure.
